Jorja’s Bio

My heart’s desire is that the Lord would use me to help women grow in their relationship with Jesus and in their relationships with other people.

My Bio will give you an overview of my life experiences.

-Born 1950 in southern California

-adopted at the age of 9 months. Raised in southern California

-1954 sister born (Jorja’s only sibling)

-1972 married Tom Stewart

-1976 Tom & Jorja moved to a small town near Cooperstown, NY

-1981 their son Shon was born 2 1/2 months prematurely & was diagnosed as having cerebral palsy

-1982 Tom, Jorja & Shon moved to southern California

-1983 Jorja, and then Tom, gave their lives to Jesus Christ

-1983 Jorja left an 11 year teaching career and remained home full time

-1984 daughter Heather was born

-1986 daughter Kristy was born (Jorja was on bed rest for 2 months before the birth)

-1990’s to the present, Tom and Jorja have hosted many foreign exchange students, missionaries and other long term visitors, as well as many short term visitors

-2000 to 2018 Jorja occasionally spoke at women’s retreats, church events, MOPS

-2013 Jorja launched her website/blog

-2017 to the present, Jorja has been leading the women’s Bible study at her church

-2017 husband Tom was diagnosed with stage 4 Melanoma cancer & began immunotherapy treatments

-2019 Jorja published her book Navigating Relational Landmines (A Collection of Relationship Tips) and the study guide for the book

-2019 Tom and Jorja have 3 children, 2 sons-in-law and 4 grandchildren

-March 2020 Covid pandemic hit southern CA

-2020 Jorja wrote a Bible study on the book of John

-Sept. 2020 to the present: Jorja is leading a number of groups in her John study

-February 2021 husband Tom was diagnosed with prostate cancer & began treatments; he had his prostate removed in 2022 and is doing well
